The idea behind the Social Media Breakfast is to bring together local businesses and individuals in our area interested in using social media and the web to better our business and ourselves. We’ll get together in a casual and fun atmosphere to talk about what’s new and happening in the online world, network with our peers and have a little breakfast too!
The Social Media Breakfast will be held the first Friday of each month with a presentation from an area business or organization. The presentations will be focused on how we are implementing and using social media, blogging and web marketing for business. It will give us as businesses and organizations an opportunity to share what’s working and what’s not, how we can better our business using the social web, and discuss any topics that may be effecting our business in general.
Be sure to share these great events with your co-workers and friends. The events are open for the public to attend!

Social Media Breakfast History:
Social Media Breakfast founder Bryan Person is a morning guy. Rising early to get a good start on the day is his thing. So is eating a good breakfast — Mama always said it’s the most important meal of the day, after all!
And on one lazy summer day in Boston in August 2007, Bryan decided to turn the breakfast hour into a gathering of his fellow blogging/podcasting/new-media pals. The morning was a runaway success, with discussions of how agencies could better implement social media programs for clients, the advantages of social bookmarking for business, and the budding popularity of this new “Twitter thing.”
Before the event was over, someone asked, “So when can we do this again?” And Bryan knew he was on to something.
By early 2008, New York City, the Twin Cities, and Singapore had kicked off their own breakfast series, and the SMB “family” was off and running!
Social Media Breakfasts serves two main purposes:
- Face-to-face networking: Bring together marketers, PR pros, students, entrepreneurs, and social media practitioners and enthusiasts of all stripes over breakfast.
- Education: Through panel discussions, presentations, case studies, debates, and breakout sessions … teach, share, and learn social media best practices for business.
At the Social Media Breakfast, we “feed your belly and your brain.” ™ Visit the Social Media Breakfast website to learn more!
