Why do I need a care plan?

An Website Care Plan saves you time and costs with administering one of your business' most valuable asset. A Care Plan is specifically designed to keep your website running smoothly and secure throughout its lifetime.  Updating your website content keeps visitors and search engines happy too.

Can't I just do this myself?

Of course you can, after we launch your website you are in control. Here are a few things to consider: Do you service your car yourself? Do you have time? Wouldn't you rather be focusing on your business? That's why we're offering to help - because we are trained and are experts under the hood of your website.

Why are there always WordPress and plugin updates?

Sometimes it can seem like WordPress releases a new version or patch every other day. This is a good thing, as popular as WordPress is with business owners like us, it is equally popular for hackers too. That is why updating WordPress with each version is the single best way to ensure you are protected.

Although your core WordPress website files and plugins (not the content or blog) can be updated and maintained by you, it is not recommended without adequate WordPress training.  WordPress and plugin updates can sometimes break your site.  If you do not have a good back up of your core files (via FTP), or you're not sure how to fix a broken plugin, your site could be down and need major attention to fix it.

While you focus on building your business, website content and blog we will take care of the technical maintenance of your site.

Does my monthly time rollover?

The monthly time is there for you every month to reserve your place in our queue and our resources, therefore it does not rollover for our plans. You can take comfort in the fact that what you will request within that 1 /2 /3 hours of time (depending on your plan) will be addressed by our team with priority attention.

What happens if my website goes down, is hacked, breaks, etc?

The whole purpose of our website care plans is preventative care, so we hope to prevent anything from happening. However, if something does happen to your website, we will be there right by it's side communicating with the web host on your behalf. We cannot promise your website will not be hacked or go down, but can promise we will do everything in our power to prevent it, as well as assist in the restoration and cleanup of the website with one of our backups.

Do I have to create the content for the website updates?

With our Website Care Plans, YOU provide the content and information that will be added to your website including text, images, graphics, videos, etc..  If you need assistance with writing, article creation, content and graphic creation, etc. please contact us for a separate proposal.

What if I need more hours?

If you have a task that requires more than your dedicated monthly time, we will submit an estimate quote for you to approve separately from your plan However, many times we will evaluate requests that exceed your time on a case by case basis, and with approval, work past the time and bill for time exceeded at our current support rate of $100/hr (30 minute minimum).

If I don't join a plan, am I on my own?

Well, Yes and No. We will always be here to help out, though we might not be available on immediate call as Care Plan clients get priority support.  You will miss out on the little extras we provide to our subscribed clients, though these are always available to purchase if and when you need them.

Can I really cancel at any time?

Absolutely. We are all about a relationship with you and your website, so we would hate to see you go but we know financial needs weigh on many decisions and don't want to lock anyone in. Request a cancellation via email to sm@rvtechsolutions.com, and we will stop the next payment.

You did not build my website, can I still join a plan? Expand

Although these plans are for sites we build or re-design, we welcome clients who are looking for a long term relationship with a dedicated webmaster. 

Your website does need to be on the WordPress platform.  Then we like to do a Website Evaluation to become familiar with the website, how it was built and any potential issues that can arise. With the evaluation we will perform all the "Website Updates and Monitoring" tasks and make a full backup. Most importantly we will make a list of issues to fix and suggestions for improvement needed in order to proceed with the website on a monthly plan. Based on your type of website, this Website Evaluation is a fixed 4-hour fee.
